Consumer Age
The idea behind the panoramic view of the Runcorn Chemical Works
is to remind ourselves that we are collectively
responsible for our environment and that these chemical plants are
a direct product of our shopping habits
and of our consumer age.
The Runcorn Chemical Works produces a variety of materials which
most of us purchase and consume regularly.
John Davies is internationally known for his landscape photography
and his work often explores the changes and development of the industrial
and urban environment through a documentary narrative. He has exhibited
and published his work widely, including the V&A in London,
MOMA in New York and the Pompidou Centre in Paris.
