Plastic Crimewave
Born 9/30/73, and immediately drawn to superheroes, Maurice Sendak,
Richard Scarry and other flights of fancy (drawing by age 3 supposedly).
A career in straight comic book and cartooning was destroyed by
the temptations of the "underground"- yes, soon Comix,
SF poster art, Dadaists, and UK psych LPs figured highly and the
Galactic Zoo Dossier was born.
Hand-drawn odes to the obscure and forgotten populist strains
of psychedelic culture, now published by Drag City.
In the meantime hundreds of band posters, cartoons for various
magazines (Arthur, Lumpen, Roctober, etc) album covers (for Drag
City, Earworm, Eclipse etc.) logos, etc have all appeared-the hands
never at rest.
Some kind words in the Wire, Mojo, LA Weekly and Arthur....PCW
also does the Galactic Zoo Disk label, and fronts Plastic Crimewave
Sound and plays with a few other outfits.........
