hosting two consecutive exhibitions during the Liverpool Biennial.
Hortus: botany and empire
18 September - 23 October
Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm
An international group exhibition, organised by Spacex,
that explores underlying historical links between horticulture and
colonialism through contemporary art. As well as photography, video
and painting, there are site-specific horticultural installations,
relating to particular histories within Liverpool. Map available

Comme Ca Art Prize 2004
6 November - 11 December

12pm - 5pm
Launched last year, the Comme Ca Art Prize North brings the art
and artists of the North-West, Yorkshire and Northeast to a wide
range of audiences. Anyone can nominate an artist - and come and
see the best art in the North in this exhibition of the shortlisted
artists. The £10000 prize is judged by Stephen Snoddy, Director
of Baltic, Penelope Curtis, Curator, Henry Moore Institute, Leeds,
and Eddie Berg, Executive Director, FACT Centre, Liverpool. The
2004 winner will be announced on 25 November.
