Stuart Brisley (UK) - the
performance artist, renowned for actions pushing the body to its
limits, is currently developing a new series of oil paintings of
flowers. An American Gift is a painting of dying and dead roses
(a flower which originated in Persia). He also presents a new photographic
work of uprooted trees on the beach of Little Cumberland Island
in Georgia, USA, where the last recorded slave ship requested a
pilot to land slaves from Africa i 1858, fifty years after the outlawing
of slave trading. The Creole word for the unrest that is currently
taking place in Haiti, translated into English, literally means
