Susan Boafo (UK) - Boafo's
photographic work examines the theme of 'hybridity', exploring how
this concept applies to both the natural world and to the processes
that occur when different cultures meet and interact. She describes
her practice as developing this concern from a personal point of
view, being mixed race herself, but also 'examining the broader
relevance of hybridity in terms of its effects upon British, European
and global identity'. Her subject is hybridized flowers, often bringing
together so-called 'exotic' and 'native' species.
