Ritual Bodies
The Walker is working with a group of Manchester based artists
on a series of interventions into the gallery as part of the Independent
strand.
Phil Davenport writes poems on apples. – symbols of desire
and corruption - placed round the galleries.
Margaret Cahill's ethereal figures, inspired by passive female
sitters in the paintings, step into the viewers' space to provide
a physical encounter.
Mike Chavez Dawson's alter ego The Gallery Guard, looks for the
perfect art experience through performance and intervention,
resulting in the creation of a limited edition DVD.
Jacqueline Wylie uses discarded raw material from woollen garments
to examine the nature of what is collected by galleries.
