Index: An A-Z of Graphic Arts
Monday to Thursday 10am- 4pm/ Friday 10am-2pm
Contributors include Chris Brown, Paul Davidson, Seel Garside,
Steve Hardstaff, Jonathan Hitchen, Julia Midgley, Ian Mitchell,
Neil Morris, Michael O’Shaughnessy, Carole Potter, Jonathan
Spencer, John Young, and Patrick Young. This collaborative project
offers a contemporary definition of the term Graphic Arts. The alphabet
is a fundamental element of graphic communication and it is used
here as a thematic touchstone to influence , inspire and structure
a collection of visual work that covers a diverse range of graphic
media, technique and process. The work is simultaneously presented
as a publication and an exhibition. The publication is a limited
edition artists’ book allowing contributors to explore and
experiment with the format with which they are most familiar: the
printed page . The exhibition is an installed and expanded version
of the book developed into gallery space.
This exhibition is held at the Liverpool
School of Art and Design
Throughout the Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art Liverpool
School of Art & Design will present a series of exhibitions
and events featuring work by research staff from the school and
their international associates. The school of Art and design will
also present Creative dates: A Conference of the North West Art
and Design Research Group. |
