Part of the show Journeys
Jan Bentley, takes a different perspective by revealing the long-term
effects from the ebbing-and-flowing of the sea and the River Alt
on Crosby Beach. The beach is covered with rubble, building material
and household objects that are constantly being eroded by the sea.
Jan, who lives in Crosby, is inspired by objects found on there,
often personal things that represent the home. They carry with them
a trace of humanity and are a metaphor for the cycle of life. The
tide comes and goes and each time different objects are revealed
and then buried again.
